The Writing Process
Every completion of a story bestows celebration. A part of that celebration is letting my stories soar across the earth to see where they will land.

WRITING FICTION
I love crafting a beautiful story. It's sublime when, all at once, a new story permeates my mind. A call ushers me, and magic sets in. A scene unfolds in a time long forgotten, a character speaks, and a distinct location on the map appears. I crack open the box, listen closely, and allow the muse to take over. It's a delight to see what unfolds.
My fiction crosses multiple genres—historical, the supernatural, mystery, and horror. My writing connects the present to people, places, and events in the past. Spirits from the past haunt my work. True events, themes of loss, reincarnation, birth, and karma guide my stories. Motherhood, justice, and identity play central roles.
I just completed a fictional Vietnam-era biography. I am currently re-writing a thriller set in Wisconsin's Driftless Area, a meditation guide, and a collection of short fiction.
SUBMISSIONS
I find motivation in having a deadline to finish a story. The more I submit, the more I am ignited to write. I enjoy the writing process, and I love taking time to research a literary space on the globe where my story will find a home.
It's liberating for me to share my writing. If it's a "no" from a publisher, then my piece hasn't found a place where it belongs. Sort of like a bad date. I had a shit ton of "bad dates" before I found my one true person, love of my life, my sea turtle that can hold my weight and all of my dreams and sorrows. Every time I send out my work, I hope the story finds a home, just as I found my sea turtle.
I view each submission as a win, regardless. If one more person reads my work, it's another who bore witness to the stories I am meant to share. I began submitting three years ago. In November 2025, my fictional Mary Wollstonecraft story, "Saved by the River Thames," was longlisted for the World History Encyclopedia Ink of Ages Fiction Prize. It is incredible knowing this story moved others. Thank you, WHE!
