Ms. Rendon read from her book, Anishinaabe Songs For A New Millennium" and "Stitches of Tradition (Gashkigwaaso Tradition.)"
Marcie spoke to Wingra children and community, inspiring people of all ages to write! Marcie shared that she was able to read and write before the age of Kindergarten, she writes every day, and she has no "formal background" in writing. Early in her career, she diligently submitted her work for paid positions to come to where she is now as a professional writer.
She spoke about her passions for the spoken word, play-writing, poetry, children's book and mystery writing. She is a pioneering author in native mystery fiction leading the way for indigenous representation in literary fiction. Thank you for visiting Wingra School, Marcie!! And thank you Wingra HoS Torsie Judkins for hosting Marcie!
